How to Find the Best Fitting Hand Chain: Your Complete Sizing Guide

Hand Chain Sizes: Small, Medium, and Large

Our hand chains come in three sizes:

Small:

  • Best for ring sizes 7 and under
  • Total wrist + hand piece length: 9.25"

Medium:

  • Best for ring sizes 7–10
  • Total wrist + hand piece length: 10.5"

Large:

  • Best for ring sizes 11 and up
  • Total wrist + hand piece length: 11.75"

If you’re in between sizes, we always recommend sizing up for the most comfortable fit.

Why the Fit Is Still Customizable

One of the things we love most about this design is that the hand section and wrist section are all one continuous piece.

That means even within each size, you still have room to personalize the fit.

Our bar chain allows the jumbo clasp to hook onto different links throughout the chain, so you can fine-tune where it sits on your hand and wrist depending on how snug or draped you want it to feel.

This flexibility makes it easier to:

adjust for comfort
account for hand movement
leave room for charms
create your preferred styling look

We especially love the jumbo clasp worn on top, because it helps keep your charms facing upward instead of flipping underneath.

How to measure for your hand chain:

The easiest way to find your ideal size is by combining your middle finger ring size with two simple hand measurements.

Step 1: Find Your Middle Finger Ring Size

Start with your middle finger ring size.

If you already know it, amazing — move to step two.

If not, measure your middle finger first using your usual ring sizing method.

Step 2: Measure the Hand Portion

Next, measure from the knuckle bone at the base of your middle finger down to your wrist bone.

This gives you the length of the top hand section.

Step 3: Measure Your Wrist

Now make a fist and point your knuckles slightly downward.

This position gently stretches your hand and wrist the way the chain naturally moves during wear.

Using a soft measuring tape or a (piece of string that you can measure later):

wrap it around your wrist
measure around the wrist where the chain will sit
keep it comfortably snug, not tight

This gives you your wrist circumference.

Step 4: Sorry! Math incoming

Now add:

hand length + wrist circumference = total hand chain measurement (not including the ring portion)

Use that total number to compare against our sizing chart above.

That final measurement will help you choose between small, medium, or large.

How to Put On a Hand Chain

Because the hand chain is one connected piece, we recommend:

Slip the ring portion onto your middle finger first
Let the chain drape naturally across the top of your hand
Wrap the wrist section around your wrist
Use the jumbo clasp to hook into the link that feels best

The beauty of the bar chain is that you can experiment with where it closes until it feels perfect.

How to Add Charms to Your Hand Chain:

Adding charms is one of our favorite ways to make this piece feel personal. To add a charm, slide the bail (top loop of the charm) onto the spring section of the jumbo clasp.

The jumbo clasp placement on top creates the perfect styling moment because it helps keep charms visible and upright. It turns your hand chain into something even more sentimental and styling-forward.
