What Is Zapping? The Brave Daughters Guide to Permanent Jewelry

What Is Zapping?
Zapping is the tiny flash of light that happens when one of our expert jewelers welds your bracelet closed — a spark that marks the start of your forever. ✨
Each chain is measured to fit you perfectly and designed to last as long as you want it to — whether that’s a lifetime or just a season of your story.
Not ready to go clasp-free? No problem. We can always add a clasp for you — your jewelry, your rules.
The Meaning Behind a Zapped Bracelet
At Brave Daughters, zapping is more than a jewelry trend — it’s a ritual of connection and intention. Whether it’s with your partner, your best friend, your mom, or just for you, the experience is about celebrating the magic of permanence and presence.
Each piece becomes a reminder — of love, of self, of a moment you don’t want to forget.
What Happens During the Zapping Process
The process is simple, safe, and totally painless:
-
Choose your favorite chain (14k yellow, rose, or white gold).
-
Try it on and get sized to your perfect fit.
-
We’ll weld it closed with a quick, harmless spark — a moment of light you’ll remember.
That’s it. No clasps. No fuss. Just a beautiful, lasting symbol of connection.
Common Questions About Zapping
Does Zapping Hurt?
Nope! You won’t feel a thing.
Our jewelers use a micro tig welder that creates a quick spark of light.
Each Brave Daughters welder completes over 120 hours of hands-on training, so you can relax and enjoy the moment.
What If My Bracelet Breaks or I Need to Remove It?
Life happens!
While we test every weld before you leave, your piece can be easily removed by snipping it at the welded link.
If it breaks or needs to come off, bring it back — we’re happy to re-weld it for you anytime.
Can I Travel With My Permanent Jewelry?
Yes — TSA won’t ask you to remove fine jewelry when passing through airport security.
You can jet-set, swim, or dance through life with your bracelet right where it belongs.
What About MRIs or Medical Procedures?
For MRIs or surgeries, consult your doctor.
If removal is needed, simply clip your bracelet — it can be reattached later with ease.
Can Kids Get Zapped?
Our minimum age for welding is 3 years old, and anyone under 14 must have a parent or guardian present.
It’s such a sweet bonding moment for families.
What If I Change My Mind?
Since each piece is custom-fit and welded to you, all sales are final.
We recommend taking a moment to be sure you’re ready — this is a commitment to your sparkle!
What Metals Do You Offer?
We offer a range of solid 14k yellow, white, rose gold, gold-fill and stainless steel chains.
Our signature thin helix is always available.
