Behind The Design: Engravable Charms!
At Brave Daughters, we strive to elevate the forever jewelry experience, that’s why we are beyond excited to introduce our newest addition of engravable charms! This latest addition is another creative step forward in creating personal pieces. We sat down with jewelry designer and founder Erin Myles to dive deeper into the inspiration behind the design of the engravable bar, disc, and heart!
What makes engraving a special addition to forever jewelry, what was your inspiration/reasoning for adding it as an option to the menu?
We wanted to take the personalization aspect of our offering one step further and engravable charms felt like the next natural progression.
How personalized can customers make their engravable pieces?
We have 3 fonts available and a range of icons/motifs. Clients can place anything that fits on our heart, coin, or bar charms at their appointments. Fully custom designs are available for next-day delivery as well. (think photos, handwritten script, hand-drawn images, etc.)
How do you balance maintaining the piece's aesthetic (BD is known for dainty, elegant, customizable, versatile jewelry) while making space for personal engravings?
It was a top priority that our new engravable charms matched our library's existing aesthetic, and our laser engraver is very precise and can engrave very delicate and small lines, so it's a win-win! These charms will layer in perfectly with your permanent jewelry collection from Brave Daughters.
For clients who may need help deciding what to get engraved, do you have any suggestions or inspiration to help them decide?
I recommend a cute, meaningful phrase on our 14kt gold bar. I have my dog's nickname. Dates, initials, coordinates, and zodiac signs have been very popular with our team as we developed this offering.
If any, what type of care or maintenance is recommended for engravable charms to preserve their longevity?
You can use a small polishing cloth to buff any fingerprints or skin care products off of your engraved charm to make it shine again. Other than that, the same care is recommended as with our other 14kt gold permanent jewelry.
Why did you choose the Bar, Disc, and Heart shapes specifically for engraving?
These are classic shapes that we knew our client would love and sit well with our existing library of charms and chains. We wanted to make sure we could accommodate a range of engravings, so the bar allows for longer phrases, coordinates, and names, and the heart and disc charms will fit initials, zodiacs, and motifs.
Will there be more engravable designs offered in the future?
I hope so! This is the part where we really listen to client feedback: what they love about the collection, and what they wish we had in the offering, and then we go from there. So, if there's something you want to see from us, please speak up!
