Serene Horizon 'FUTURE' Rug

Purple Mountain Rugs is the namesake rug brand created by Purple Zishan Li in 2023. Her name, in Chinese, means “Purple Mountain."
Purple loves the future, and uses this as fuel for imagination. This mindset is imbued in all of her work.

Spending most of her time as a child at her Mother's textile shop in Beijing is where she developed a love for rugs. This ultimately led way to her opening her own store called Pmhomny in Brooklyn, where she sourced her first collection of rugs.

Over the past couple of years, Purple has visited many villages in the Atlas Mountains and spent time with Berber woman to learn the Berber rug weaving techniques. Purple Mountain Rugs aims to preserve the heritage of handmade rugs by using the same weaving techniques to achieve pinnacle quality. The collection consists of fun and whimsical phrases and motifs to bring positive energy into any space.
