100% Natural Wool sourced locally from the Atlas Mountains
Handmade in Morocco by a village of Berber Women; they work together to meticulously weave the rug over a period of weeks to months. The rug is then washed and dried for softness and durability.

  Please note: All rugs are handmade to order by artisans, slight variations may occur and this is what makes your rug uniquely yours. Rug production takes 4-8 weeks and you will receive tracking as soon as your order ships.

Purple Mountain Rugs is the namesake rug brand created by Purple Zishan Li in 2023. Her name, in Chinese, means “Purple Mountain."
Purple loves the future, and uses this as fuel for imagination. This mindset is imbued in all of her work.

Spending most of her time as a child at her Mother's textile shop in Beijing is where she developed a love for rugs. This ultimately led way to her opening her own store called Pmhomny in Brooklyn, where she sourced her first collection of rugs.

Over the past couple of years, Purple has visited many villages in the Atlas Mountains and spent time with Berber woman to learn the Berber rug weaving techniques. Purple Mountain Rugs aims to preserve the heritage of handmade rugs by using the same weaving techniques to achieve pinnacle quality. The collection consists of fun and whimsical phrases and motifs to bring positive energy into any space.

Caring for your Purple Mountain Rug is super simple! Follow these steps below to keep your rug beautiful for years to come.

Regular Maintenance: Lightly vacuum weekly to remove any loose dirt or debris.

Spot Cleaning:
Be sure to catch any spills when they happen! Blot the area with a dry cloth, then gently clean with warm water and a bit of mild soap. Be careful not to scrub.

Professional Cleaning: Every few years, or if your rug is heavily soiled - a professional cleaning from a reputable rug specialist is recommended!
